On a roll...

Not literally of course since I am eating very little bread and certainly NOT rolls. But I have consistently lost weight each week.

Today I when we weighed in, I'd lose another 2.2 pounds. I'm so proud of myself. Next week I should hit the 15 pound mark.

We've done so well with our food choices and keeping track of what we're eating. It's truly a food lifestyle that we're creating, and I have yet to feel like I'm on a diet. I don't miss all the fried or sugary foods. In fact, my sugar level was 117 this morning. It hasn't been that low since I started testing my sugar each morning.

I'm getting excited about our vow renewal and vacation. It's been so hectic at work, and a vacation is sounding better all the time.

Week's highlights: weight loss; pulled chicken sammies; loose clothes; sunny mornings; 5pm on Friday.

Tuesday

What a day.....I feel like the minute I hit the doors at work, I immediately climbed on a roller coaster ride that had no end. So much to do of my own work, and then keep up with the missing person's work too. I there to help, as that's part of my job. I take pride in stepping up when needed. But helping and fixing everything she's done so that it's correct is very frustrating. I'm exhausted....

A positive note is that I stayed completely on plan today, and I feel great about it. Even in spite of the frustration and stress I felt much of the day. I am learning to channel it in a different way than thinking about food. It's quite a concept. I know I've got a long way to go, but I refuse to give up.

As we were driving home tonight, I gave Walt the "body" imagane that I was shooting for. Not a size 2 but a more reasonable size 8 or 10. I just want to feel "good" and my weight isn't the whole key to that. I'm focused and I can envision myself when I get to that point. It's beautiful.

Highlights of today: riding into work with Walt; coffee with cream...yummy; seeing my friends; compliments on my outfit; coming home to my furry friends and a wonderful meal; talking to Sarah; relaxing in bed.....ready to start it all over tomorrow......

Week 4

Two more pounds gone forever. It's not a huge loss (as I'd rather have) but it's consistent and a loss nonetheless.

We have meals planned out for the week, and what we've learned is that variety helps us stay on plan. I don't feel like I'm missing anything....and I don't feel hungry. It's amazing.

I got a migraine this morning, and I've been trying to kick it all day. Sarah came and cleaned which is wonderful since I didn't feel like doing anything. Hopefully the meds will finally work...

Blessings: Walt...he's everything; my girls; puppy kisses; good friends; weight loss; having my own home; chocolate pudding; hearing it rain with thunder; another week....

Friday

Whew...I am so glad that the week is over. It was even a short week and it feels like it took forever to end.

I feel so inspired. It's amazing what a little healthy eating will do for a person. I can see this new food lifestyle being a permanent way of life. We're even making plans to attend a WW meeting while we're on vacation. I think that will help us keep close to the plan even though we're away from home and our normal food routine. This line of thought impresses me.....its a far cry from our food planning for Vegas in the past.....it's all about the food....Nathan's, Sonic, and buffet, buffet, buffet.....

Came home and the work clothes couldn't get off fast enough. Jammies are WONDERFUL. Walt made a great dinner and now we're relaxing. We're so blessed.

highlights of the week: having Monday off; staying on plan and feeling good; sunny Friday and needing sunglasses; resisting all the food at a work potluck; Walt.....

Much better

Today was a good day. I really felt like I got plenty of sleep (inspite of wierd dreams), and was on the ball at work. If I could ignore the stupidity at work, the day would be wonderful.

Our new food lifestyle is really working out. The raviolis we had tonight were really good. I think we're finding that variety is key. I can't wait to get on the scale Saturday.

I am literally counting the days until we hit the road. Peace is within our reach. We just have to get things taken care of between now and September. I can hardly wait. Our visit to LV in May will help.....

The vow renewal is comimg along very well. I still need to get my dress, but I wanted to wait until I've lost 20 pounds before spending the money on a dress. Everything else will fall into place. I am so excited.

Things that made me smile today: puppy kisses first thing in the morning; chatting on the way to work with Walt; happy text messages from my girls; getting work accomplished; knitting; great conversation; yummy dinner at home and cozy snuggles with my sweetheart....

I lost it....just a little....

Towards the end of my work day, I got real frustrated at some co-workers. It's really not even their fault....I just see how things can be done so much more efficiently and no one wants to listen. Can't beat a dead horse my all wise husband tells me......and this one, I believc has been picked clean.

On a much more positive note, sticking to the plan today was so easy. I haven't been feeling too hungry between meals, but I sure know when it's close to time for lunch and dinner. I am amazed and proud of the two of us for all our dedication and committment to this new way of eating. I am just so proud. I know I wouldn't be so faithful to the plan without Walt's encouragement and dedication either.

Today's top thoughts: waking up after having wierd dreams starts out the day on a "strange" note; breakfast certainly is the most important meal of the day; learning to walk away from an argument with an idiot saves time and trip to jail; knitting is a wonderful way to break up the day; I'm proud of my friends when they succeed; glad to get home to my puppy....he's a joy in my life; having a husband who wants to cook all the meals is a precious commodity.

Life is good....thank you God.....I am grateful.

week 3

We started week 3 of Weight Watchers on Saturday. I was only down 2 pounds, and although disappointed, thankful to have had a loss anyway.

I am finding it getting easier to stretch my hunger between meals, and I am not craving the bad foods as I had in the past. I really feel better even though there are no outward signs of the 8.8 pounds I've lost. I know that will come in time.

On Friday, I got a call from Tamara. She put me on the spot. I needed to be put on the spot. For weeks I had been avoiding her and dealing with the feelings that I'd been keeping inside. It was difficult, but I listened. A lot of the problems were ultimately my fault since I'd done so much avoidance. I should have dealt with the issues with her a long time ago, but I just don't deal with things as I have in the past.

I am grateful and relieved to have talked to her. We got a lot aired out, and I feel very good about it. She's good for me, and good for my life. I just lost my way, and couldn't find a way to tell her my feelings. I think she understands where things took a turn, and her own accountability in the riff between us. I want very much to be her friend, and I let her down. We worked through things, and I see us being better friends for it.

We went to Harald's for "game night" on Saturday and had such a great time. He's good people, and has such great friends. I look forward to doing it again.

Today I had to go and have a follow up mammogram. They had found something suspicious on the first set, and I ended up having an ultrasound as well. The good news is that it isn't anything more than a large cyst that will probably resolve itself and not cause any problems. I was so relieved. The LAST thing I need is something serious to go on with my health at this point. I finally feel good about my sugar levels, and other than the occasion migraine, I am doing great.

It was a good week.....and I know this week's weigh in will not be a disappointment. I am working harder at keeping on program, and eating all the points. I'm keeping a positive attitude.

Looking forward to this week: a short work week, double digit loss on Saturday, having my friend back in my life, getting another blanket knitted, spring....

New Beginning....

(before)
Again....

I feel like I've in this very place before. Oh wait, I have. Diet and after diet.....wanting to lose weight. Except this "place" looks feels different.

The last week has been enlightening. I've learned a lot about me, where I see myself in the world, and where I'm going. Big week!

I lost 6.8lbs the first week! It wasn't even that hard. All we did was adjust portions and totally prepared our own food. It was that easy. It was a great week.

I can't imagine doing this without Walt.....he's been so supportive and helpful. I love that he's doing this with me, and attending meetings every week. I just love it....he's wonderful.

Positives: weight loss and feeling more energetic; enjoying the taste of food again; having someone who sees beyond what's outside and encourages what's good on the inside; knitting; family dinner on Friday night; good coffee; having nothing to prove to anyone but myself; puppy kisses; sincere friends; life.....
