It's all set....

We finished up the last of the shopping for our renewal. Plates, napkins....favor boxes....guest book....we're all set.....our rings arrived today as well.....I love them. They are perfect and exactly what we wanted. Simple, bold, and understated. But clearly indicative that we're married and to each other. This is the LAST wedding band I am going to put on my finger....

Had a nice evening with Laurie and Steve. I am so grateful our friend was able to move forward after the way they treated us last year over the car. They are good people, and so much like us. No surprsing since they are our birthday buddies. When gone, we will miss seeing them.

Vacation arrangements are set as well. Right down to the parking at SeaTac. I am so looking forward to just being there with Walt. The activities are just the icing on the cake as far as I am concerned. No phones.....no pets (although I'll miss them)....just coming and going as we want....reconnecting and reminding each other how much we love each other.....a real vacation.....

Walt is making dinner for everyone on Sunday.....Chicken Parm....I'm so excited. I will be nice to have everyone here. I miss them so much.

things that make me smile: spring flowers, a minus on the scale each Saturday, the way Walt looks at me, ice cream, vow renewal plans coming together, honesty, clothes feeling loose, puppy love, upcoming vacation; clothes shopping, my new hair color; new shoes, and Walt.....

Easter....

Easter for us has certainly changed over the years. I can remember when I was a kid, waking up to try and find where the Easter Bunny had hidden my basket. When I foudn it, allt he candy inside would have to be dumped out see what haul I had. Ineveitably there would be a stuffed animal and some other sort of toy mixed. All my favorite goodies would be included. It was the greatest day.

Then we'd have to put the basket aside and great dressed up for church. I don't know when it is I actually realized why we go to church on Easter. Sure, there was lots of talk of resurection and how Christ died. But I didn't fully understand the concept. It wouldn't be years until I fully grasped what it all meant.

This morning we got up and went to Sunday Easter service. It was packed, and gloriously loud. It was the type of feeling one wants to have when you know in your heart you're involved in something bigger than you imagined. I walked away with such a sense of belonging and feelings of fellowship.

Walt and I took a drive north to visist the tulip fields. They were all in full bloom, and so beautiful. The weahter was gorgeous, and the flowers were so much more beautiful than last year. We had fun walking and talking, and taking a zillion pictures. Good day and good times with Walty.....as always.

goals for this week: drop at least 2 pounds, stay close to the program, exercise, keep a positive attitude; eat good things; be supportive to others;
