That wouldn't exactly explain how I actually felt this last week, but certainly describes how I feel tonight.
It was a rough week at the new job. One of the girls was out for the week, and it was just me and one other girl. For reasons I have no clue about, she felt compeled to snap, humilate and talk down to me for much of the week. To the point that at times, I was near tears. (I HATE feeling that way)
I sucked it up. I'm not even sure why. There is a part of me that wanted to snap back and just tell the bitch where to go. Yet, I did not. And on good days, bitch wouldn't even come close to describing this young woman. She's smart, and certainly knows her stuff. I have never thought I was too old to learn from someone-even someone younger than myself.
At the end of work today, it was pleasant working with her. She seemed to be more of her old self, and appreciated my hard work. It was nice. It was appreciated and it was wonderful to end the day on such a positive note.
This is where the inspired part comes in to play. I could have reacted to this girl's behavior in such a negative way - other than holding back tears. I didn't. At first I sort of felt "whipped". But in reality, it would have been stepping down to her level. Not me or a smart move. I'm so glad I just sailed through it. Who would have thought I could inspire even myself?
I'm inspired to do my best to rise above bad behavior.....or negativity. There are so many wonderful and positive people that I work with. Can I really justify allowing ONE person drag me down and make me not want to go to work? NO! How crazy would that be?
I'm a good person, I'm smart, and I have a caring spirit. The actions of one person does not define me. And I will not accept that I have to follow along.
I owe my epiphany....or whatever you call it.....to the good people in my life.
Dear Lord, thank you for humbling me, for showing me the right wayt o be, and for showing me what true love really is. Thank you for bringing such beautiful people into my life. I will work harder to walk in the way you want me to. In your Gracious Name.....Amen.
